Re: Annual Dinner, Coniston, 30sept-2oct
Hi,
Is anyone driving back to Birmingham on Sunday and able to offer a lift? I have the day off work on Friday so I am planning to make my own way up to the lakes via train in the morning, but a ride on the way back would be super.
Also can anyone advise how/when is it possible to access the hut? I was going to do some walking on Friday afternoon so it would be good to dispose of my rucksack somewhere. Anyone else arriving early is welcome to join me!

I am leaving Friday morning and I will offer to cook a meal at the hut Friday night say for 7.30 pm. I know others are also going up early.
I can only do this if I have access to the hut say for 6pm what are the key arrangements?
Vicky I can give you a lift up Friday morning but I have to be back in Birmingham by 9.30am Sunday morning i.e. leaving at 6am !

Hi Mike,
Thanks for the offer but I will be down south overnight on Thursday, so I figured a train straight up north on Friday morning was the best option.
6am start also sounds pretty painful on the Sunday! I'll try and stay around later in the day if possible as it looks like the best weather of the weekend.
Happy to assist with any cheffing on the Friday evening.

Hi Mike, I think Vic, Lou and I won't be arriving until at least 10pm. Thank you for the offer of food but we'll grab something before leaving Sutton.

My Spaghetti alla bolognese for Friday is on hold unless I can have access to the hut by 6pm. Waiting to hear about key arrangements.
My Spag Bog is a traditional Italian recipe which even had Alan Hardy's approval well only 4 out of 5 because I did not chop the carrots up small enough like his wife Margherita.
I can recommend Malcolm's blackberry and apple crumble with custard for pudding no pressure Malc !

Sorry Folks Friday night food is off.
Geoff has just spoken to Adam who has the key and the earliest he can get there is about 8pm.
Suggest we all meet up in the Sun Inn say 6.30pm on Friday and we will eat out somewhere in Coniston on Friday night.
