Mercian Mountaineering Club

Good Afternoon!

It is that time of year again where the Mercian Sports Day returns! It is rumored that this event has led to some rather uncharacteristically competitive behaviour from certain Mercian members. I'm not naming any names for fear of being ousted from the committee

I am currently planning to run the event in Cannon Hill park as we can do crazy golf and swan racing. More traditional events such as three legged race, egg and spoon and will be included!

Venue @Cannon Hill Park
Time: 16:30 (depends on number of activities)

Hopefully the weather will be good and we can have a picnic of sorts and some drinks in the park afterwards!

Activities will include:

Egg and spoon race (runny or hard)
Sack race
Boat race (possibly if they are still open)
blind persons challenge
welly toss (or just anything heavy I can get my hands on).
tug of war
Belay the baileys

Immediately after Diggering, and a big Meet though. Dont know if we might be getting social fatigue by the 8th?

I'm a bit 50/50 myself, becasue with this being the middle of summer, with lovely long days, if the weather is great I'd be looking to go away for the weekend, or at least do a long day-trip somewhere. I'll see what the forecast holds, but would also support Huw's idea of postponing until a little later.
