Helyg, Ogwen - 6-8 March 2026

Roll up Mercians because the meets are coming thick and they are coming fast.
This time we're in the delightful valley of Ogwen, right underneath Tryfan - a mountain most famous for being a significantly more difficult ascent than the 4,102m Alpine Peak of Barre des Écrins (B. Heeney) - although I'm told there is also some decent climbing and scrambling to be had on it too...
We're staying in Helyg which is the Climbers Club's first hut and apparently was used as a training base for the 1953 Everest expedition. Ooooooooh la la. We haven't stayed there since 2022 though so giving it another whirl.
