Hello Mercians

The camping season is upon us again. To kick the year off we will be heading to Church Stile Farm in Nether Wasdale. According to Mercians who have been there before its a good site. Plenty of flat ground to pitch a tent, reasonably priced, free showers and there is a pub next door. What more could you need.

As its a bank holiday we will have to book in advance. You can use the link below to book yourselves in (I'm not booking any group spaces in advance). It has the prices and other info you need. Recommend you book soon as its a bank holiday in the lake district.

So, we got an email from the camp site owners regarding late arrival...

Our reception is only open untill 8pm. We do still accept arrivals after this time but they must report to the farm house and our gate is locked at 10.30. Any arrivals after this time are not be allowed on site under any circumstances as we don't want to disturbed other campers on site.

If you therefore arrive after 10:30pm, which could be just about any or all of us depending on traffic, their approach is that you are "sh*t out of luck". A stupid approach (what about drunks coming back from the pub) but, hey we don't make the rules.

The loophole as I see it is that if anyone is definitely going to be there early (taking a half day or such), can I give you my tent to pitch please?

Blimey, should have read the t and c's properly before booking. They sound like right miserable gits! It also states any 'undeclared groups' where people have booked separately but are really a group will be booted off the site. We better not talk to each other!
