Anabasis, Capel Curig - Jan 19-21 Jan
Posted: 08 Jan 2018, 22:31
Hello Mercians
Welcome to 2018, and the first meet of the year. This will be held at the Anabasis/Peter Llowarch Memorial Hut, in Capel Curig.
This is a good location for getting to Ogwen and its many delights, or Llanberis Pass with almost as many delights. If we are lucky there may be some snow to be had and a winter route on 'The Don', if not a walk or a scramble would be a likely option. Plas y Brenin is just down the road where there is a bar (apparently (don't quote me on that)).
10 spaces, £7pppn.
And for those interested; Anabasis (from Greek ana = "upward", bainein = "to step or march") is an expedition from a coastline up into the interior of a country (according to the ever truthful Wikipedia).
