Stonethwaite farm, borrowdale - 7-9 july

Hello Mercians
Following a second highly unsuccessful attempt at the 'Snowdon for sunrise' meet, you'll be glad to hear we will not be going for a third attempt. Instead we will be heading to the lake district, where the sun shines, the beer is tepid and the sheep are beautiful. The location of these joyous delights is Stonethwaite Farm in Borrowdale.
The campsite has cold and cold running water, a reed bed toilet and rough narrow track. Luxury at this level doesn't come cheap, it cost £5 per night (unless your a child then it cost £3). Having said that, the photos on the web site look very nice (see the link below).
Once again there is plenty of hike bike climb in Borrowdale. You could bag yourself a Wainright, bike to Grassmere for an ice cream, or climb the classic rock Gillercombe buttress.
