Dearest Mercians,
I'm pleased to annouce that the next Mercian Mountaineering Club meet will takes place over the weekend of 25th and 26th October at Froggatt, in the delightful county of Derbyshire.
We will be staying a the Downes Hut, owned by the Climbers Club.
(http://www.climbers-club.co.uk/venues/r ... -froggatt/)

This is a well maintained and spacious hut, which I don't think we've visited before.
The club normally only visits the Peaks for day meets, when we rush up in the morning, climb all day, then head straight back home. Wouldn't it be nice to relax a bit, and see what else the area has to offer? Ofcourse there's a chance that the weather will be good enough for climbing (I'll be bringing my rack just in case), but the Peaks has some spectacular walks, so why not come along and explore on foot.
This would be a good first time meet for those fairly new to the club - a comfy hut not too far away - so l would encourage a good turn out.
We've got 10 places booked at the moment, but it sleeps a lot more and imagine I could increase this. The cost will be £12pppn.
Bookings via email or on the forum, you know the score.
TTFN,
Karlos
