Dear Beth,
It is brave of you to offer to cook in such a basic hut.
How spicy will the fajitas be?

Do not get carried away with the novelty of a flushing toilet.
The water supply for the hut is up a gully at the back and the header tank will soon empty if it is freezing or dry (It can be dry in the Lakes although perhaps not this winter). Suggest if it is yellow let it mellow, if it is brown flush it down.
Remember there is no electricity so take your wind up radio!
Sorry I cannot be with you I am not feeling very flush at the moment!
It is a great hut, enjoy.

Yes, I'd like to go. And fajitas:)
Need a lift, if anyone can offer, please, from Moseley - can leave from 6ish, or meet you en route.(I'm working in Telford, so not sure if there is somewhere convenient for a pick up).

Yep, Bob is welcome to have fajitas, as is everyone else who's asked
Roland, they won't be very spicy, but it is absolutely no problem for me to do another pan of filling with a bit less spice in it if you'd like a milder version. It's no bother, it's just an extra pan but I won't be washing it so it's fine! I'll count you in.

Dear Beth,
That is kind of you and it seems a lot of trouble. If a no spice or very mild Fajitas is possible that would be great.
I will bring rubber gloves, washing up liquid and pan scrubs.

Re: Newlands Valley 26-28 Feb
hey, as there's still plenty of space, our housemates, Tom and Helen are going to come as well.
Clare - unfortunately my car is full and I'm leaving around 4.30. Maybe have a chat to people at the wall tonight to see if anyone has space?

Re: Newlands Valley 26-28 Feb
I remembered this post from Simon last time we were at this hut:
Folks, just a warning that this isn't the easiest place in the world to find, suggest people arrange to share lifts with someone who has been before, or a competent navigator. We've had people drive home as they couldn't find this hut before, and there is no mobile coverage at the hut, so you won't be able to phone and ask for directions!
You're looking for this gate:

Once you've gone through that, it's about 1.5 miles / 2km along the track to the hut.

Re: Newlands Valley 26-28 Feb
I've got a pair of Asolo size 8 men's boots that were left at the hut. Also who's got the key as it wasn't there when we locked up. Great meet, H
Re: Newlands Valley 26-28 Feb
The boots are mine.
The key should have been in an envelope on the top of the white cupboard just left of the door to the kitchen. Did anyone see/check this envelope, since I might be wrong.
