The next meet will be at Abbey Farm in Llangollen. We've all been to sunny Llangollen before (even if it was on the A5, head down on the way to Snowdonia) but perhaps not to this campsite. Its big and has half an abbey in the middle. I think thats where the name comes from.
Hike - Around about the place
Bike - Llandegla or downhill at One Giant Leap
Climb - Some polished limestone
Paddle - The white water on the river Dee
Jump Off Bridges - Like the local pikes
Looks like one of these places with an arse about face booking system. I think you can get 4 people on a pitch for £26/night.
Me and Matt have just booked our pitch. I called the campsite to see if we could get more than one tent on a pitch. They said no, unfortunately not. You can have 4 adults per pitch but they all have to be in the same tent. Pretty rubbish policy for anyone in a small tent if you ask me but there you go!
Helen, the plan for those of us signed up so far is to do a canoing day on the Saturday. I know you SUP, would you join us on the water? We will probably paddle the Dee which is grade 2-3, though probably more grade 2 in the current low water. Not sure how wild you normally go on the SUP!
I don't think I'm up for that on a SUP but I might have a look before I rule it out. I might see if I can hire a kayak and join you in that instead though.
