Eskdale Camping, 18th-20th June
Hello Mercians,
Another meet update for you. A number of people have been asking about June camping meets as they already had leave booked off for Skye. We thought it would be helpful to announce the location early to allow folk to plan other activities around that if they wish.
We are due a camping meet the weekend of 18 - 20th June and the plan is to head to Fisherground campsite in the Lakes. It's in Eskdale, so lots of great hiking, climbing, wild swimming and pub options nearby.
I know a few people have said they are likely to extend the trip into the preceding week. Suggest you use this post to coordinate.
Usual campsite rules apply - sort your own booking out. Campsite details are below and at the time of writing they looked like they still had plenty of pitches available. I'd still advise early booking as Lake District camping seems to be rather popular this year!

Sadly I'll be hen do-ing so I can't join you but have a great time!

Since it looks like the campsite is fully booked, we are changing the location to Churchstile. Its 5 miles away from Fishergroung, so still good for all your Eskdale needs. Last check in is advertised as 9pm, but people were checking in later than that last time we were there.

Cheers

Re: Eskdale Camping, 18th-20th June
Currently tied up on the wknd but am tempted by the preceding week if there's interest.
Re: Eskdale Camping, 18th-20th June
I'm keen for a longer stay if there is a group of us! Eskdale has the best wild swimming.
Re: Eskdale Camping, 18th-20th June
We were interested in this meet but according to the camp site's website, you need to check in by 8pm. I appreciate their likely reasoning but it's logistically challenging. On this basis, I'm unlikely to go unless David is already in the Lakes for work.

Re: Eskdale Camping, 18th-20th June
i am interested too - but have similar concerns about reaching the site by 8pm. I will see if I can get a few extra days off before to make it a longer stay
Re: Eskdale Camping, 18th-20th June
Yes thats pretty nuts. I also have concerns about the 8pm limit. Seems like its pretty inflexible.
Re: Eskdale Camping, 18th-20th June
I'm in (assuming more people sign up). Also happy to have a few extra days.
Re: Eskdale Camping, 18th-20th June
Cool. I'm free that wknd now, plus can take days preceding wk.
Re: Eskdale Camping, 18th-20th June

We are booked in for the Friday and Saturday nights.
Re: Eskdale Camping, 18th-20th June
There's been some whatsapp chat regarding this one, to try and get organised. Post here if interested in joining it. Church style campsite is now booked up though. There are some other options ish, and a few spaces may come back up if cancellations.
